Closing the Door to Guatemala, Part Three
El Calvario Despedida
The downtown Calvary church was our second 'home' church in Sayaxché.
The marriage courses that we taught there were the largest groups with the most faithful attendance.
They loaded themselves up on pick-up trucks and came out to our house about 5 days before we left.

We gathered on the east lawn, in the shade of the house.
The kids played on the playground set and swings, while we held a short service.
The service consisted of a few songs and words of gratitude for our ministry to their church.
(They said so many nice things)
to God be the Glory!
They felt God had laid on their hearts to give us a love offering and they lined up and gave us envelopes of cash.
We were so humbled!
 They prayed over us.
Prayers of Blessing, Health, Protection, Prosperity.
 The Argueta family.
Four young couples who attended our most recent marriage course at the Calvary church.
We are VERY excited to see what God will do with their lives.
Pastor Armenio, his wife Marta (in the pink blouse), and three of their 7 children.
We were so privileged to be called to work alongside this pastor, his family, and his congregation over the last few years.
They are a beautiful example of love, respect, and harmony as they minister as a family to that church and the community.

  1. Part of you will stay forever in the memories of those you spent much time with. Give yourself time, but you will make many more friends in the new location. Just give yourself time. Love, Phyllis
